Datomic Cloud 1253-9431

This message covers changes in this release.

2026/07/01 - 1253-9431

  • Feature: Permanently discontinue maintenance of a composite tuple attribute. Run upgrade-schema to get access. See Discontinuing Composite Tuples for more details.
  • Feature: seek-datoms - index access to raw datoms.
  • Feature: rseek-datoms - reverse complement of seek-datoms.
  • Feature: IMDSv2 is now supported. Requires ions to first be deployed using ion-dev 1.0.356 or later. Set ImdsHttpToken parameter to required on CloudFormation Compute Group templates to enforce IMDSv2 only.
  • Upgrade: Jetty server from 9 (EOL) to Jetty 12.1 and Jakarta EE 6.1.
  • Performance: improved index read performance.
  • Fix: prevent blanks _ from unifying across function clauses in query.

An issue was discovered and reported by a Datomic Cloud user who used aws-api in their ions application. This release creates a conflict with users using any older version of aws-api than 0.8.686. We are currently working on a release of Cloud that will address this issue and ensure that we do not conflict with user’s choices around aws-api.

If you have already upgraded to this version and use aws-api you can safely downgrade to the previous cloud release 1217-9399 as long as you have not created a new DB on the new version or run the upgrade-schema on an existing DB. If you have any questions please contact support via ticket or e-mail: (support@cognitect.com).

I will update this thread to point to the next cloud release when it’s ready.
